Antique French pocket compass in a pocket watch-style case with a suspension ring at the top. The dial is marked with cardinal and intercardinal directions using French abbreviations and features an arrow-form north indicator. The dial is marked "Made in France." The reverse of the case is engraved with a stag standing in grass.
The case shows oxidation and verdigris, and the glass crystal has scratching and debris beneath it.
